The school year starts, and Max joins for the first time to his new high school. Because of his sexual orientation, his integration is complicated. He confronts bullying and violence. Only Marc is willing to give him a hand.

We’re introduced to two Jewish couples. The Bernstein-Cohen are visiting the Shores and each couple have a teenage son. While the adults want to have some grown-up talk, the two boys, Virgo and William, retreat to William’s room. When Virgo tells his friend William that he has just come out as gay, it addresses universal issues of finding acceptance and truth as a teenager in Jewish Upper Middle Class New York society, with its myriad rules and tensions.
